Make Lighting Global Illumination (GI)
This time you will make Global Illumination lighting or fancy term is GI. What is a GI? GI is like lighting natural lighting is happening in the real world where the light falling on the object, will be reflected back. Often termed as the "Bouncing Light" or also called Indirect lighting (Indirect Illumination). Features used are Skylight and Light Tracer.
This technique differs from the technique using Omni lights, Direct Target and Target Spot. The three types of lights is a direct lighting (Direct Illumination), which is the opposite of GI techniques.
How do I make GI lighting? This is how.
Step 1
Open a 3DS Max file that you have
Step 2
Open Tab Create> Lights> Skylight. Click once in the Viewport anywhere and in any position. Suppose you click in the Front Viewport.
Step 3
Ensure that selected Skylight object and you open the Modify Tab. For example you tour Multiplier value = 1.15. This is the value to increase the intensity of the light (you are free to set the value of this multiplier).
Step 4
Then you click the Rendering menu, then click Advanced Lighting and Light Tracer click option.
Step 5
Will open the Render Scene window. You click the Render button
Step 6
Presto! Render the results looked very realistic and interesting.
